A lot of Leeds United fans have flocked to Twitter to share their thoughts on a claim to emerge regarding a piece of potential transfer business from the past.

According to football agent Hayden Evans (via The Phil Hay Show), during his time with Molde, Erling Haaland was actively looking for a potential move away to join Leeds.

Will Haaland play for Leeds before he retires?

It is believed the Norwegian was even given a Leeds shirt with his name on as he was shown around the club, but Leeds felt the £4m asking price was too much to pay.

“He was ripping it up, but also fervently following Leeds United. And literally, you know, wanting this and that about Leeds, all the rest of it. And we spoke to Victor [Orta] and said, ‘look, I can bring Erling to Leeds, and the rest will be over to you,” said Evans on The Phil Hay Show.

And Leeds fans flocked to Twitter as the claims were relayed and shared their absolute frustrations at the club for not paying up the reported asking price.

What did these Leeds fans have to say?

“Did not need to see this today”

“this makes me want to cry.”
“Speechless”
“Be back in a sec off to go cry in the shower”
“That’s one tweet to ruin ya Friday”
“All I feel is pain”
“Sickening”
“This is true heartbreak”

Haaland made 50 appearances for Molde between 2017-19 across all competitions and was able to find the back of the net 20 times.

And it is completely understandable why these Leeds fans are frustrated considering Haaland has gone on to score 70 goals in 69 appearances since signing for Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund (via Transfermarkt).
