Leeds United fans have been speaking about Pascal Struijk and his place in the side following comments made about him by Paul Robinson.
The Dutchman has been a regular part of the Leeds United side this season, starting in six of the club’s Premier League games and making 10 appearances in total across all competitions, however, according to their former goalkeeper, he might find himself out of the side moving forward.
Speaking in an interview with MOT Leeds News, Robinson discussed their game this weekend against Leicester City and stated that he felt that the 22-year-old would likely find himself out of the starting lineup:
“For me, as soon as your first-choice full-backs come in, Firpo comes back in, Dallas goes into the midfield and then Struijk misses out.”
These comments were relayed to Leeds United fans by the Leeds Insider Facebook page alongside the question: ‘Should Struijk start at CB over Liam Cooper?’, and it generated some interesting responses, with many demanding to see Struijk play ahead of the club captain:
Should Pascal Struijk play in defense or midfield?
Struijk has shown his flexibility in the past, playing both as a central defender and defensive midfielder, so depending on how Leeds set up this weekend, he might find a way to stay in the team after all, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
