Leeds United fans have been giving their thoughts on midfielders Adam Forshaw and Matuesz Klich following comments made by Noel Whelan.

Forshaw and Klich have certainly have vastly different experiences under Marcelo Bielsa at Elland Road, with Forshaw spending a lot of time out with an injury that he sustained back in 2019, whilst Klich has been pretty much an ever-present, racking up 142 appearances since the Argentine took over.

Can you remember where Leeds finished in these league seasons? First up: 2018/19

Forshaw is back from injury now, has started to get some minutes under his belt and has even managed to earn the praise of Bielsa, as he stated following his performance against Leicester “I seriously had doubts that he could achieve what he has achieved. This is a message for those who doubted. It’s a prize for his perseverance. He spent two years without playing. He never gave up.”

Speaking in an interview about the midfielders with Football Insider, Whelan hinted that Klich could find himself out of the team for the foreseeable future now that Forshaw is back:

“It was really encouraging to see Forshaw back in that starting line-up. He and Phillips seemed to have a really good understanding in the midfield. He gave us just a bit more presence in there, a bit more aggression. He has that experience and composure that we need in that midfield area. Klich could be the one to miss out now.”

These comments were relayed to supporters via the Leeds Insider Facebook page, where there seemed to be plenty of fans that agreed with him and wanted to see Forshaw stay in the team ahead of the Pole:

The inclusion of Forshaw certainly has given Bielsa something to think about moving forward, and it will be interesting to see just who he decides to put in midfield, starting with this weekend’s game against Tottenham Hotspur.
