Many Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to slam the performance and result of Mark Jackson’s U23 side after their 3-1 defeat to Chelsea in Premier League 2 Division One action on Friday evening.

The visitors went into the lead inside 10 minutes, when central-defender Xavier Mbuyamba heading home from an in-swinging corner. After finding space once again, Mbuyamba made it two with another header with former Leeds midfielder Lewis Baker providing the assist with a back-post free-kick, allowing the central defender to climb highest again and head home for the Blues.

However, the Yorkshire outfit managed to strike back after Archie Gray burst forward, was fouled in the area and awarded a penalty, which Tyler Roberts calmly dispatched to reduce the deficit before the interval.

With Roberts and Sam Greenwood withdrawn during the break, and Joe Gelhardt and Charlie Allen coming on as their replacements for the home side, they ultimately lost 3-1 as Chelsea were awarded a penalty which Baker slotted home from 12-yards and secure all three points for his side.

Will Roberts make it at Leeds?

Following the result, many Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to slam the performance and result of Jackson’s side:

“Be getting relegated at this rate”

“The Tyler Roberts effect”
“Get over it – it’s a team that’s chopped and changed every game – it’s a development team! Also must be fun at parties!!”
“That is absolutely horrific. Not even a finger was raised by anyone nor did they even celebrate”
“That Lewis Baker kid looked decent worth a punt imo”
“Roberts stat padding in the 23s with a pen”
“Roberts …. say no more”
Mbuyamba almost secured a hat-trick of headers from set-plays in stoppage time if not for a Kristoffer Klaesson save, illustrating his dominance in the air at set-pieces today.
Jackson’s side currently 10th in the league, next take on Manchester U-23’s a they look to put their disappointing result against the Blues behind.
