Leeds Live reporter Joe Donnohue has warned Whites fans that the club will not make marquee signings for the sake of bringing in a name.

Marcelo Bielsa and Leeds concluded five signings during the summer transfer window with Dan James, Lewis Bate, Junior Firpo, Kristoffer Klaesson and Jack Harrison all signing deals with the Elland Road outfit.

Will Leeds sign anybody in the January transfer window?

Yes

 Yes

No

No

Whilst strengthening the squad, Donnohue doesn’t believe that the club will make marquee signings for the sake of bringing in a name, telling This is Futbol: “The Chief Executive Angus Kinnear has stressed that throughout his time at the club, that marquee signings will not be made for the sake of bringing in a name because the process of acquiring players is a lot more diligent than simply looking for a Ross Barkley, per se.”

Looking ahead to the January transfer window and whether the club will look to strengthen, journalist David Anderson wrote in the Mirror: “But he (Victor Orta) also dislikes trying to do business in January because the pool of available players is so small and the asking prices are so high.”

There is still plenty more football to be played before the transfer window opens though and after a difficult start to the campaign, Leeds found a bit of form prior to the international break, as they put a run of three matches undefeated together and moved on to eleven points from eleven games.

The club will be looking to continue their good run of form when they travel to Tottenham Hotspur this weekend, knowing a victory will put them within two points of their opponents.
