After a tough start to the campaign which saw Leeds fail to win one of their opening six Premier League fixtures, the club have started to turn a corner in recent weeks as they have only lost one of their last five and are unbeaten in their last three games.

Following the club’s victory against Watford, manager Marcelo Bielsa praised a few players in his team including Shackleton, telling the official Leeds United website: “There were some players who shone, I thought Jamie Shackleton evolved, Diego Llorente came back well, Kalvin Phillips had influence and Tyler Roberts came in very well, plus the rest were all at a level of medium upwards.”

Shackleton has made 73 first-team appearances for Leeds United in all competitions, including 41 in the Championship and 21 in the Premier League. Prior to the Leicester City game, the midfielder started the previous five matches and after receiving praise from his manager and getting a run in the team, you would imagine he will be itching to return to action and help Leeds United climb the Premier League table.
