Former Premier League midfielder Carlton Palmer says he has been told that Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira is a fantastic coach on the training ground.

Vieira was appointed as Palace boss in the summer following Roy Hodgson’s departure from the club and has made a very promising start to life in south London.

The Frenchman has taken Palace to 10th in the Premier League table and has already picked up a couple of big wins, masterminding victories against Manchester City and Tottenham.

Vieira is undoubtedly getting the job done from the dugout. And from what Palmer has heard, the 45-year-old also makes quite the impact during training.

“I’ve heard he’s a fantastic coach,” the ex-Leeds United and Southampton player told TIF when discussing Vieira’s work. “I’ve heard he’s got a great No.2 who’s in there with him doing a fantastic job.”

Next up for Palace is a trip to Turf Moor to take on Burnley and they will be looking to pick up from where they left off just before the international break.

Vieira’s men ran out 2-0 winners against Wolves last time out, with goals from Wilfried Zaha and Conor Gallagher, now a full England international, helping the team to all three points on the day.
