Queens Park Rangers fans have been reacting to the performance of Yoann Barbet during their game in the Championship.
Mark Warburton’s men have certainly been making their case to be considered promotion candidates recently. They came into the game off the back of a five-game unbeaten run and inside the top six as they look to make the move back to the Premier League for the first time since 2015.
However, they might find that hard to do with some of the performances that some players are putting in, like Barbet for instance. The 28-year-old’s display came under some heavy scrutiny from the QPR fans online who were watching the game, with many of them focusing on his poor passing ability – with the Frenchman’s completion rate coming out lower than the team average after a number of misplaced passes (via WhoScored).
His passing cost them early in the game as he gave possession away to the home side for Tom Lawrence to score the opening goal of the game for Derby County, which led to some staunch criticism from the fans:
“Or Barbet with another hospital pass which we concede from”
Will QPR gain promotion this season?
Yes
No
QPR would go on to win the game, but this really could have been a more comfortable victory had it not been for Barbet’s mistake, which he hopefully won’t be making too many of in the near future as they look to stay near the top of the table.
