Michael Bailey has dismissed links that suggests who could become Norwich City’s new manager while speaking on The Athletic’s On The Ball podcast.
The Canaries had gone 10 games in the Premier League this season without picking up a win and had only mustered up two draws in that time, but against Brentford, Daniel Farke guided his side to victory, but it was still not enough to keep him in a job which saw him win two Championship titles at Carrow Road.
Should Norwich appoint Lampard?

Now that Norwich are without a manager, they have been linked with several candidates, including the recently sacked Dean Smith and former Chelsea manager Frank Lampard, but given his last job saw him face Champions League sides, it may be unlikely that he drops down to the team at the foot of the Premier League.
Bailey has admitted that he can’t see Lampard moving to Norfolk.
“So, Frank Lampard, I just can’t see it being him. Famous last words, may end up with egg on my face. I just can’t see it being him because I would have thought that would just have been sorted quite quickly.
“‘Why does Frank take this job?’ would be my question. If he’s managed Chelsea and Derby, does he really then want a relegation on his CV?”
TIF Thoughts on Lampard to Norwich…
The Canaries may well have reacted to their fellow relegation rivals Newcastle United appointing a new boss to ensure they also received a new manager bounce following the international break, but attracting someone like Lampard, who was also linked with the Magpies, might be a stretch.
This could be because of the position Norwich find themselves in. They are bottom of the league and have eight defeats to their name already, while top scorer Teemu Pukki has just three goals, so there would appear to be very few positives for a new manager to work with.
Also, the fact that Lampard has next to no experience fighting a relegation battle as either a player or manager may put both Norwich and the man himself off entertaining such a task.
