A number of Birmingham City fans have been left very upset after seeing Tahith Chong reveal online that he will be out ‘for a while’ due to an injury.
Back in July, the 21-year-old joined the Blues on a season-long loan deal. The Dutchman would have been hoping to gain more experience having spent the first part of last season with Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga, concluding the campaign at Belgian champions Club Brugge.
Unfortunately, however, it now looks as if the youngster will have his chances in the Championship limited due to a groin injury suffered in training.
Indeed, Chong took to social media to announce his fitness issue, while thanking the club for ‘everything they have done’ so far.
The serious nature of the post had a fair amount of Birmingham fans fairly pessimistic about his future with their club after his message was relayed to them by the Blues on Twitter.
What did these Birmingham fans have to say?
“Crying.”
Judging from these comments, it’s clear to see the supporters fear the worst when it comes to Chong’s injury. It certainly seems as if they doubt he’ll actually get a chance to even play for them again.
Will Tahith Chong play for Birmingham again?
Yes
No
That would be a great shame as the 21-year-old had impressed for the Blues up to now. He had made 13 appearances for Lee Bowyer’s team, claiming three assists, and earning plenty of plaudits along the way.
With some luck, he may still have a future at the club just yet.
