A lot of Newcastle United fans have taken to Twitter to voice their thoughts at the latest claim to emerge in the Tyneside club’s search for a new manager.
According to Football Insider, the Toon have not given up on the idea of potentially bringing back their former manager, Rafael Benitez, to Tyneside despite currently managing Everton.
Would you like to see Rafa back at NUFC?
Yes
No
The report claims although the Spanish manager has already publicly ruled out a potential return, there is hope at Newcastle that he could be persuaded into rejoining the Magpies.
Newcastle fans flocked to a tweet from The Chronicle relaying the claim on the Everton manager to share their thoughts on the idea of a possible return.
What did these fans have to say?
“I said some things about Rafa but I was hurt and upset. I’d take him back over all the managers we’ve been linked it. The question is, can we wait until the end of the season, doubt he’d leave Everton half way through. But, please make it happen.”
The 61-year-old took on the Everton job during the summer following the departure of Carlo Ancelotti and the Toffees currently sit in eighth spot in the table after a humiliating 5-2 home defeat to Watford.
Benitez managed 146 games for the Toon across all competitions and it seems these fans would love to see the Spaniard add a few more to his record as their managerial search continues.
