Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has been speaking on his latest YouTube video to discuss the ongoing managerial saga at Manchester United.

The Red Devils suffered a humiliating Premier League defeat against Liverpool on Sunday which saw Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s reign at Old Trafford put under severe scrutiny.

Should Soslkjaer face the sack before the Spurs game?

With the former United striker’s time at the helm of the Premier League giants under question, former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has been linked with the potential vacancy at Old Trafford.

The Italian got his hands on both the Premier League title and the FA Cup during his time with Chelsea which should prove attractive to the United board considering Solskjaer is still to guide them to a trophy.

Speaking about the 48-year-old United manager’s future with the Red Devils and who could potentially replace him if he was to face the sack, Romano had the following to say.

(4:20) “I saw some rumours around about Antonio Conte saying that Antonio Conte is not interested in Man United job. From what I’m told this is not true. This is not true.

“For example, Antonio, would be open to understanding what is the project? Of course, it’s not like saying yes, after five minutes, but he would be open to understanding what is the project if Man United will call him.

“As of now during the night between Sunday and Monday, they have not done it. But let’s see what is going to happen in the coming hours.”

TIF Thoughts on Conte to United…

The former Chelsea and Inter Milan boss was heavily linked with a potential move to Tottenham Hotspur over the summer, however, a deal reportedly fell through with Conte not convinced by Tottenham’s plans.

United are currently below Tottenham in the Premier League table, but we feel their squad could prove more attractive to take on than Spurs’ with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Paul Pogba currently at the club.

Reports suggest the United board are seriously considering Solskjaer’s future at the club following their recent defeat to Liverpool, but would Conte prove to be the best long-term solution?
