Sunderland fans have been reacting to the performance of Denver Hume during their Carabao Cup tie against Queens Park Rangers.

Lee Johnson’s men have made an impressive start to the season, as they currently sit just two points off top spot in the division and have made excellent progress in the cup, already knocking out another Championship side in Blackpool back in the second round.

Do you know the record signing for these Championship sides? Let's see if you do, starting with Fulham

One player who wasn’t able to see the game through was Hume.

Hume has had a rough time getting minutes this season, only making one appearance in the league so far, not helped by the fact that he spent the early part of the season recovering from an injury. Hume was subbed off midway through the first half with another injury and it left a lot of fans exasperated, with some believing that he might be turning into a liability with his problems:

“Denver Hume is made of glass. Pass it on”

“Sicknote”
“Pretends to be shocked”
“Perpetually injured”
“That’s him out for 6 months”
“I’ve had poppadoms with greater structural integrity than that lad.”

Will Sunderland return to the Championship this season?

Hopefully this injury is just a minor one and not something that will force him to be out as long as his last injury did.
