Sheffield Wednesday fans have been reacting to news surrounding young goalkeeper Jack Hall.

The next round of international games are right around the corner, and whilst some of the senior players in the side have received their call ups, like Bailey Peacock-Farrell for Northern Ireland, the international recognition isn’t just reserved for the veterans.

It was announced today that 16-year-old Jack Hall has been called up to represent the England U18 side. Speaking to the club website upon the announcement, the club’s Academy manager Steven Haslam had this to say on the matter:

“It’s fantastic recognition for Jack and his family. Jack has been with us since the age of seven so has come right through the programme and has had a really good experience all the way.”

The news was then relayed to Owls fans on social media by the club’s official Twitter feed for them to react to, and there were many who joined Haslam in their celebration for the young man as they congratulated him for his call up:

“Brilliant Jack”

“Great news. Well done Jack and keep it up”
“Congratulations Jack. Great news!”
“Yes Jack mate proud of you”
“Fully Deserved Lad”
“Amazing news. You deserve this lad.”
