Image for Sheffield Wednesday: Fans react to images of George Byers in training

Sheffield Wednesday fans have been reacting to images that have emerged of George Byers in training.

The 25-year-old has been absent from the Sheffield Wednesday side recently as he has been out with a groin problem that has meant he hasn’t been able to play for the Owls since September.

However, it looks as if he is back on the mend now, as the club posted pictures of him back in training ahead of this weekend’s game with Cheltenham, photos which Byers himself then relayed to Sheffield Wednesday fans via his own Twitter account alongside the caption ‘Back in the mixer’.

Whether or not he will be back to take part in the game against Cheltenham on Saturday, either from the start or on the bench, we’ll have to wait and find out, but that didn’t stop the Sheffield Wednesday fans from showing their delight at seeing him in action when they saw his photos on their timeline:

“Excellent news, need you in the DM role!”

“Great news, we really missed him”
“This is a timely boost”
“Great to have a proper player back”
“Finally get to see u play”
“Need that extra bite in midfield”

He has previously missed a lot of time at his previous club Swansea City due to groin issues, and you just hope that this is something that isn’t going to cause him long-term damage across the course of his career.
