Celtic fans have been reacting to comments made by Alan Hutton surrounding Boli Bolingoli.

The 26-year-old has been pretty much an afterthought for Bhoys manager Ange Postecoglou this season, only making two appearances for them and quite often finding himself out of the team altogether.

Speaking about his situation in an interview for Football Insider, Hutton expressed his sympathy for the Belgian and how it would ultimately become hard for him to prove himself if he isn’t given a consistent run of games with the first team.

He said: “It’s very difficult. Most players have been in that situation, I have. As a defender especially, you need [a] run of games to get up to speed. You get to know your players beside you, things like that.

“It’s very difficult to be in for one game, out for four and back in for one. From that point of view, I do feel sorry for him. He has a second chance at Celtic. Postecoglou spoke earlier in the season about how well he’d been doing in training and he was due an opportunity. It was up to him to take it.”

These comments were relayed to Celtic fans on the Celtic Insider Facebook page for them to react to, asking if anybody else felt any sympathy for him – with the majority of supporters not showing any:

It does make you wonder whether or not he has a long-term future at the club, and as he is set to enter the last 18 months of his contract in January, it might well be time for Celtic to cut ties with him if he isn’t going to be getting any more minutes at the club.
