Celtic fans have been reacting with anger at news that has emerged about the league and Sky Sports.

Sky Sports has been the main broadcaster for the Scottish Premiership since their five-year agreement kicked in for the 2020/2021 season with a deal that was meant to provide a financial boost to Scottish Football, with a report from The Daily Record claiming that ‘The agreement with Sky will bring an end to BT Sport’s popular coverage but should plough around £32m per-season into club coffers, an increase on the present £21m.’

However, whilst there will be more money in the game, there are some people complaining about the lack of coverage that it gets at times.

It was pointed out by Celtic fan @TheRyanMcGinlay on Twitter that Sky Sports will be showing the English League Cup tie between Preston North End and Liverpool across three of their channels tomorrow night, meanwhile the Scottish Premiership, which has a full round of fixtures on will not be shown at all.

This caused a number of Celtic fans to blast the broadcasters for their handling of the Scottish leagues and their lack of coverage:

“Cancelled my sky sub at the start of the season”

“Disgusting”
“I ditched Sky years ago. They never gave Scotland decent cover for the inflated subscription. Not missed it & saved a fortune!”
“Madness. There can be no excuse for this @ScotlandSky
@SkySports. This . Your contempt for your Scottish viewers is unbelievable”
“Like any business the only way they are taking notice is when folk start cancelling subscriptions.”

Where do you think Celtic will finish in the Scottish Premiership this season?

Anger which you can understand in the circumstances when one game gets given three channels worth of coverage, it does come across as overkill.
