A score of Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to react to polls and debates within the Celtic fan community over the club’s centre-back situation.

Summer signings Carl Starfelt and Cameron Carter-Vickers have enjoyed a budding partnership in recent games, but the impending return of ex-Toulouse ace Christopher Jullien complicates Ange Postecoglou’s selection options.

Popular Celtic fan account Everything Celtic (@aboutceltic) took to Twitter to poll fans on the club’s ideal partnership and where Jullien could fit in, and many Celtic fans were keen to have their say on the club’s best centre-back pairing.

Posing the question ‘Who would Christopher Jullien replace in the Celtic starting XI?’, fans wasted no time in giving their thoughts on social media.

What have some Celtic fans been saying in response?

“Genuinely don’t see all the hate with Starfelt. Think he’s been class had one or 2 mistakes but who hasn’t. The pressure he gets put under every single game and he handles it!”

@marcmcewan_80

“Starfelt is an Ange signing & cost a fair few quid & CCV is on loan,I seriously doubt that Ange would drop one of his biggest signings for a loan player.”

@StevenMcInally1

“CCV has been solid and consistent since his arrival. Starfelt still gives me the fear”

@MeNow0508

“3 of them to start”

@DazmccMcconnell

“Stop slandering starfelt.”

“Starfelt slanders himself every week tbf”

@Celticfan677

“Can I not pick both?”

@krismcguigam

There are certainly worse headaches for Ange Postecoglou to have in terms of availability, and the impending return of Jullien from a long-term injury offers the chance to diversify the Bhoy’s senior options in the heart of defence.

Jullien is clearly a fan favourite, whilst Carl Starfelt in particular seems to be singled out for jittering the nerves of fans.
