Former Rangers defender Michael Ball believes that the club’s fans still love Alfredo Morelos despite his desire to leave.
The 25-year-old has been brilliant in front of goal for Rangers since joining them, as he has scored 99 goals in 196 games, as well as registering 45 assists also.
Do you think Alfredo Morelos will leave Rangers next summer?
Speaking with Caracol Radio (via Ibrox News), Morelos appeared to admit that he wants to leave Rangers soon, saying: “Each player wants to improve each day and be in a better league, in a more watched league.
“This league has taught me important things in my career. I started in the best way; the previous [season], I scored many goals. Also, may it be God’s opportunity and may a big step be taken soon.”
Despite Morelos possibly looking to leave Rangers in the future, Ball believes that the Gers fans adore him, telling This is Futbol: “I think the fans are happy that he’s still there because he is a player that the fans adore and love and the opposition fans love to hate, and he’s got that sort of spirit that the Rangers fans love.”
After winning their first Scottish Premiership title since the 2010-2011 campaign last season, you would imagine that manager Steven Gerrard will be delighted to have kept hold of one of his star players, to help them mount another title charge this term.
