Many Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to express their excitement over the possibility of a Josip Juranovic-Boli Bolingoli full-back partnership at the club.

Although the former was an absentee through injury for the Fir Park clash against Motherwell, his left-sided Belgian counterpart made a rare start and put in an excellent shift to help his side to a clean sheet.

The replies exemplified fan hopes from some sections of the fanbase that Bolingoli can continue to fight for his place back in Ange Postecoglou’s thinking with a view to playing an integral role as he challenges the likes of Greg Taylor for a regular starting XI spot.

What have some Celtic fans been saying in response?

“Juranovic and Bolingoli could be the starting fullbacks for our next league game. Exciting times.”

@BhoysAnalytics

“Can Bolingoli be added to the European squad if we make the knockouts?”

@Wieghorst98

“In the two games ive watched Boli in the Ange era he has been far more pragmatic in his style. When concentrating on the basics and not trying to be roberto carlos …he is a solid player!”

@Back2theegg

Passing at times could be better… what I have always liked about bolingoli is he doesn’t hide even if he makes mistakes… you see players make one or two then hide… he gets back on the horse and goes again… decent player and remember barely kicked a ball since Jan too”

@y2sh_84

“I’d like to see Boli retained but I think the ‘club’ have made a decision he’s out and only for emergency use. Taylor and Montgomery in front of him in pecking order. Doesn’t say much for Scales…”

@TonyMoran67

“Thought boli was class today excluding the stonewall penalty”

@Angeball12

“Can’t wait”

@JuranovicExtra

Fans are not unanimous in their verdict on the full-backs, but there is clearly potential for a budding partnership that has some fans talking.
