Celtic fans have been praising summer signing Jota following his comments after the club’s game on Sunday.

Ange Postecoglou’s men bounced back from their rather poor display in the Europa League against Bayer Leverkusen in midweek to claim a 2-1 victory away to Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership, with the Portuguese winger bagging the winner in the final ten minutes.

It was the 22-year-old’s 2nd goal of the season so far, but far more than just being the decider on the day, it appears as though there was a lot more meaning to the goal that meets the eye.

Speaking to Celtic TV after the game about his thoughts on the match, he mentioned that his family were in the middle of the travelling Celtic supporters, and how much they enjoyed seeing him score.

His comments were then relayed to supporters by the club’s Twitter channel, where there were plenty of them on hand to share the love for the Portuguese loanee, with many hoping that the Hoops can turn his temporary deal into a permanent one at some stage:

“Just pay the money now.”

“Can we crowdfund his transfer fee? Love the guy x”
“Get him signed on a permanent deal pronto, can already tell he’s loving being at Celtic and playing under Ange”
“Boys already shown he’s worth paying the money for to make the move permanent, get it done Celtic”
“Any chance we could just give Benfica the cash the now?”
“The joy on this boy’s face when he talked about his family in the middle of the Celtic fans when he scored!! @CelticFC get him bought ASAP”
‘Amazing.”

Although, perhaps it is just a little bit too early to start making calls like this after just seven games, as there’s still plenty of time left in the season for his performances, and fans’ opinions of him to change.
