A whole host of Celtic fans are absolutely delighted on Twitter following a transfer claim involving Yokohama F Marinos forward Daizen Maeda.
During his first transfer window as manager of Celtic, Ange Postecoglou managed to bring in 12 new players, with some of those signings becoming instant hits such as Kyogo Furuhashi, Joe Hart and Jota – with the two attackers combining for a stunning Europa League goal, while Hart has racked up eight clean sheets.

Furuhashi endeared himself to the Celtic fans by scoring a hat-trick on his first league start and has since gone on to net a further four goals in all competitions, and he could soon be joined by a fellow countryman in Maeda.
According to Robert Smith, Celtic are ‘confident’ of landing the Japanese striker, who has previously been managed by Postecoglou.

It’s easy to see why Postecoglou is interested in linking up once again with Maeda, as the striker has had a very impressive season with Yokohama F Marinos, netting 18 goals in 30 league appearances.
Given that Postecoglou has already worked with Maeda and that Furuhashi is at the club, it should allow the striker to settle in smoothly if the move does end up happening.
