A whole host of Tottenham Hotspur fans aren’t happy on Twitter following the latest Harry Winks news.

Spurs appear to have some solid midfield options when fit, with the likes of Oliver Skipp, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Tanguy Ndombele all having featured in the league this season, which leaves someone like Winks, who came through the club’s academy, far down the pecking order.

The midfielder has only started one league game this season, which was the 3-0 defeat against Crystal Palace. There have since been reports claiming he wished to secure a move away in January, but according to The Sun, Tottenham appear ready to block any move as he may have a role to play over the festive period of fixtures.

A lot of Spurs fans on Twitter are furious that Winks won’t be leaving the club in January.

Winks has been a long-time servant at Spurs, racking up 178 appearances and has gone on to start in Champions League and Carabao Cup finals, with the latter very much annoying club-record signing Ndombele so much that he requested to leave over the summer.

The 25-year old is an England international and has 10 caps for the Three Lions, so if he has any faint hopes of regaining a spot under Gareth Southgate ahead of next winter’s World Cup in Qatar, you would imagine he’ll have to go out at least on loan for some regular first-team football, much like Jesse Lingard did at West Ham last season.
