Serge Aurier left the club after the two parties mutually agreed to terminate his contract after being unable to find a potential buyer for the right-back.

However, just over a month on from the summer transfer window, Aurier has landed an opportunity with Unai Emery’s Villarreal on a one-year deal.
Speaking about his time at Spurs following his move to the La Liga side, Aurier took to Instagram to say: “I couldn’t see myself joining the enemy even less because I have way too much respect for our club.”
