A lot of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to voice their thoughts on the latest quotes to emerge from Argentina manager Lionel Scaloni.

Premier League action has been put to one side at the moment with the international break in full swing, and Tottenham now face another saga with their South American players.

Should Spurs prevent the South Americans from going in the future?

Giovani Lo Celso and Cristian Romero have both travelled to represent Argentina despite the debacle they endured just last month playing for their country.

Speaking on the Spurs duo, Scaloni had the following to say on a potential early departure from their third World Cup qualifier (as per TyC Sports, via Sport Witness): “In this case it’s totally different. They’re about to play all three games and under no circumstances will they leave earlier.”

Spurs fans flocked to Twitter to share their thoughts on the comments to emerge, with another farcical delayed return to Spurs action expected.

What did these Spurs fans have to say?

“Having international football while the Covid restriction are in place is crazy IMO.”

“Let’s be honest, Jose would never have let this happened.”
“I strongly dislike Scaloni.”
“Like watching a car crash in slow motion.”
“Let’s be honest, Jose would never have let this happened.”
“It really makes Spurs look ridiculous. Other clubs have refused to release players at all, and we can’t get them back even one game early!”
“Don’t let them ever go again then”
“We’re not a serious club.”

Spurs return to top-flight action in just over a week’s time as they face their longest trip of the Premier League season to Tyneside as Newcastle United await on Sunday 17th October.

Argentina’s final game will be played in the early hours of the preceding Friday, which will mean the players will have only a short period in which to return to England and adapt to the UK timezone.

With the latest comments hinting towards the Argentine duo not making it back in time for the Newcastle clash, it is apparent these Spurs fans are growing tired of the international breaks disrupting their season.
