A collection of Tottenham Hotspur fans have expressed their concerns after it was announced that Davinson Sanchez had been called into the Colombian national team.

The defender was forced to spend some time isolating in Croatia with teammates Giovani Lo Celso and Cristian Romero after the last international break as the trio had all travelled to red-listed countries.

That meant all three players missed the club’s Premier League match against Crystal Palace – a game that they lost 3-0, signifying the start of their current poor run of form.

Spurs’ official Twitter account happily shared news of the international call-up and, having not forgotten what happened last time, many supporters were none too pleased.

Here’s what these Spurs fans said…

“Why are we pleased? Caused havoc last time.”

“Yay another player off that will need to isolate!”
“Spurs are in shambles again.”
“Great, more isolation. How exciting!”
“More Quarantine time. Good job Spurs.”
“Great. Sure that will go well.”

No doubt these Tottenham supporters are worried about the idea of losing one of their central defenders in a similar situation.

Sanchez did start all three of the league games Spurs won without conceding at the start of the season, and has since only played in two of the defeats, having come off the bench for just seven minutes in the loss to Chelsea.

Will Tottenham finish in the top six this season?

Perhaps this is why these fans are so concerned at the notion of his possible unavailability, although there have been reports that quarantine restrictions could be relaxed for the upcoming break.
