Many Spurs fans have taken to Twitter to rave about Nuno Espirito Santo’s decision to drop Dele Alli against Aston Villa in the League.

The Lilywhites have endured a tough few weeks in the top-flight, losing three successive games in the competition, including a particularly disappointing one away from home against north London rivals Arsenal.

Are you happy Dele Alli has been dropped?

And, ahead of Spurs’ final game before the international break, Nuno has made the big call to drop Alli from his starting line-up against Villa.

Here’s what Spurs fans made of that decision on Twitter.

With just two goals in ten games across all competitions, it’s safe to say it hasn’t been the greatest of starts for Alli this season.

The England international has once again struggled for form, and after being hooked at half-time in the 3-1 defeat to Arsenal last weekend, it appears Nuno has finally lost his patience with the attacking midfielder.

The 25-year-old had previously started all six of Spurs’ games in the League, and the substitution last week at the break was actually the first time that he had missed a single minute.

Today’s clash against Villa feels like a big one, especially with the international break coming up, and Nuno will be desperately hoping for a better outcome.

Making the decision to leave Alli out is certainly the kind of bold call that could either really pay off or back-fire.
