Spurs fans have taken to Twitter to rave about Cristian Romero’s performance in the 2-1 victory over Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side ended their recent three-game losing streak in the Premier League with a good win at home to Villa, with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and an own goal from Matt Targett enough to seal all three points.

No!
And while the Lilywhites may not have kept a clean sheet in the process, Spurs fans were left suitably impressed by the display of summer signing Romero at the heart of defence.

Given he was their big marquee signing in the summer transfer window, it was a real shock to see Romero only make the bench for last week’s north London derby against Arsenal.
Nuno opted to go with Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez as his centre-back partnership, and the duo were run ragged at the Emirates.
But on Sunday, with Romero alongside him, Dier and Spurs in general looked far more composed and sturdier in defence, with the Argentine’s towering presence making life difficult for Villa’s attackers.
As a couple of Spurs fans themselves said, he simply has to play every game from now on.
