Express & Star journalist Luke Hatfield believes that Ollie Watkins could be an option that Tottenham are considering.

Fichajes via Birmingham Live reported that Watkins was one of the names on the shortlist of Spurs.

The forward joined Aston Villa from Brentford in 2020 and has gone on to feature in over 40 matches for the club, scoring over 15 goals.

Do you think Spurs will make a move for Watkins?

No

Hatfield believes that the 25-year would be an option that Spurs are considering, telling This is Futbol: “For Spurs I’m sure it would be an option that they would be considering because he’s shown what he’s all about, he’s got years in the tank yet, young player, obviously shown what he is all about in the Premier League.”

Watkins has been successful in front of goal wherever he has been, as he scored 49 goals for Brentford and prior to his spell with the Bees, he was at Exeter where scored 26 goals and he also registered 17 assists for each club.

Manager Dean Smith was full of praise for Watkins also towards the back end of last season after a match against Everton, telling the Daily Mail“I think his game has got better. I’ve always said he is one of the best pressing centre-forwards in the Premier League, which is huge praise indeed. He is backing that up with goals.”

All things considered, it is easy to see why Tottenham would be interested in the England international.
