Newcastle United fans wasted no time in letting their feelings be known, having taken to Twitter in the wake of the Magpies’ 3-2 felling at the hands of Tottenham this evening.

The newly-acquired side got off to a flying start in under two minutes when Callum Wilson, freshly returned from injury, fired home a headed strike from a well-worked Manquillo cross – sending St James’ Park into thunderous rapture.

Newcastle found themselves pegged back in quick succession however, following a solo effort from Spurs star Tanguy Ndombele and a chipped strike from Harry Kane that opened the hitman’s account for the season.

Son Heung-min made it 3-1 after a suspended first-half to cpaitlaise on seven minutes of first-half stoppage time to yield a further advantage against the Mags.

An Eric Dier own goal gave a glimmer of late hope just before the game went to stoppage time, but it proved to be futile as the Mags lost 3-2.

The club took to Twitter on its official account to issue its usual full-time social media post, with the post finding itself to be a hotbed of indignation from enraged fans after the performance.

What have some Newcastle fans been saying?

Bruce surely has to be favourite to be the next Nice manager as he’s one of the good guys in football.”

Please, for the last time…BRUCE OUT BRUCE OUT BRUCE OUT.”

The best thing we can take from this game is the fan who had a medical emergency, being stabilised. We didn’t deserve anything from this game, but hopefully this will be the cause for the change we’ve been needing for a long time.”

Bruce out ASAP. The owners have to be to blamed for the ‘party atmosphere’ souring when we lost our way, and frustration was aimed at Bruce. They must have known this would happen, and keeping him around made no sense. I just hope we’ve a new manager by our next game.”

“Wouldn’t even let that money grabber into the dressing room after that. And another 6 or 7 of the players too.”

“Hope PIF kept the receipt.”

Against a dogged Spurs side within the traditional ‘top six’ clubs in the league, it was always going to be an uphill battle on paper for Steve Bruce’s side to yield a result.

Newcastle are still left winless this season as a result of the score.
