A lot of Newcastle United fans are furious on Twitter with Steve Bruce’s latest comments, which were relayed by Jim White.

Despite a rapturous atmosphere at St. James’ Park in the early stages of Newcastle’s match against Tottenham Hotspur, it slowly died down as the visitors asserted their dominance and coasted to a 3-2 victory in what was Bruce’s 1,000th game as a manager.

Will Bruce be sacked this week?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

As Newcastle’s new owners and chairman watched on from the stands, fans made their feelings clear that they wanted to see Bruce sacked from his role as manager, although the boss himself has admitted that he will ‘crack on, the best I can, until I hear otherwise‘.

Many Newcastle fans on Twitter are furious with Bruce’s comments following the defeat against Spurs.

What have these Newcastle fans been saying?

“This is really, really starting to anger me now. Hate is a strong word but I’m getting there fast.”

@agbnufc_

“That was hideous today, you’d think a man wanting to impress his new bosses would try a bit harder…”

@Fults12

“Waiting for a payout. Disgusting. If he had anything about him he’d resign but no thanks I’ll wait for the cash. Thankfully this painful period of stubbornness, incompetence and daylight robbery will soon end.”

@NoDu_nufc

Same quote pre and post game for 2 years. We need to get the balance. We will dust ourselves down. We played well at times. We didn’t do enough. I’ll get on with it. We need that bit of luck. Sorry but nothing improves…defensively shocking. Tactically inept. Change needed #nufc

@MartysNUFC

“Absolutely shocking manager. 27% win rate in the Premier League puts to bed anyone trying to pretend he’s a good manager. They’re lying!”

@StevenE01103369

“If he’s not gone tomorrow I’ll be livid. He’s phoned it in.”

Following Newcastle’s latest defeat, a report from The Times has claimed that the owners have now struck up a new shortlist which includes managers such as Steven Gerrard and former Arsenal manager Unai Emery to replace Bruce.
