A whole host of Newcastle United fans are in love with Pete Graves’ latest post on Twitter.

Despite it now being a new era on Tyneside and a new regime overseeing proceedings, very little appears to have actually changed, as the Magpies slumped to a home defeat against Tottenham Hotspur – despite taking a very early lead via Callum Wilson.

Will Bruce be sacked this week?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

Even though the Magpies have new owners with a huge amount of money at their disposal to spend, that is no use to them or the squad until at least January – and one player they are reportedly interested in is Jesse Lingard, with the midfielder’s representatives appearing to be attendees at the Newcastle game on Saturday following a post from one of his social media accounts.

A lot of Newcastle fans are very happy on Twitter with Graves’ latest claim.

What have these Newcastle fans been saying?

“Lingard would be a very good signing. He’s at his peak”

@100Magpie

“1st signing?! Would be class IMO”

@Carl_TFaith

“Very interesting”

@lblackburn_18

“Lingard would be an excellent signing. Class.”

@NUFC07102021

“@craiglongmore it’s happening”

“Would be a good signing overall, a goal scorer, little bit mistake prone but would be a star in our team. Perfect first signing if we went with him”

@shanefagan

“He would be a quality signing and a real statement of intent imo”

@bigrobnufc

“Great signing I’d have him in a heartbeat at”

@Wig82

Lingard has struggled for game time at Manchester United this season, although he did manage to score against West Ham – the same team he spent a half-season loan spell with last campaign and flourished.

The midfielder’s contract is set to expire in the summer and despite Man United wanting to extend his deal, it remains to be seen whether or not Lingard wants to extend it given his lack of playing time over the last 12 months at Old Trafford.
