A whole host of Newcastle United fans were delighted on Twitter as their club were linked with a move for Dusan Vlahovic.
This season has so far been a dire one on the pitch for the Magpies having played nine games and failed to win any of them, however, scoring goals hasn’t necessarily been holding them back as they currently boast the worst defensive record in the Premier League.

With no director of football yet appointed or even a new manager in the dugout since their takeover, things appear to be moving slowly under the new ownership at St. James’ Park, but that hasn’t stopped transfer stories from emerging. The most recent one has linked them with a blockbuster move for Fiorentina striker Vlahovic, who is set to be out of contract in 2023, as per The Sun.

It is not just Newcastle who are being credited with an interest, as Tottenham Hotspur are also in the mix – and with Vlahovic not willing to sign a new contract at Fiorentina, he may be available for a cut-price fee during the January transfer window.
Given Callum Wilson’s injury record, the Magpies may need to bring in another striker in January, as their other two options – Joelinton and Dwight Gayle – are yet to get off the mark this season, with the latter having only been handed 22 minutes in the league this campaign.
