Many Newcastle United fans have been left furious with manager Steve Bruce after he maintained that he won’t quit and referred to his doubters as a ‘bit noisy’.

After such a poor start to the season – which has seen the club manage three draws, three losses and no wins from the first six league games – many Magpies supporters have been calling for Bruce to walk away.

Do you think Bruce should walk away from Newcastle?

No

Speaking in a press conference ahead of the club’s upcoming Premier League match against Wolves, the English manager was asked if he still plans on staying in his position.

Sky Sports News reporter Keith Downie shared Bruce’s response on Twitter, quoting him as saying: “Yep, absolutely – 100%. I keep getting asked the same question – and I keep telling you. I’m not walking away. I’ve quit before to maybe get another job but it’s not in my make-up to quit now because it’s a bit noisy.”

It’s safe to say, his stance did not go down particularly well with many of the club’s supporters.

Here’s what these Newcastle fans had to say…

“He’s went from I don’t quit to well I sometimes do. The man is just a pure fraud.”

“The fact he calls it just ‘noise’ is a complete insult to every supporter.”
“I don’t think Steve Bruce understands the concept of doing what’s best for a football club and its fans, if you care about them. It’s not the “Steve Bruce show”, if you’re failing – go!”
“Wish he would just go away man, if he loved the club he’d do what’s best and that ain’t him.”
“Delusional.”
“A bit noisy?!! the fans HATE HIM.”

It doesn’t take much digging to figure out just how badly a large section of the Newcastle fanbase want him out of the club.

Bruce is approaching his 100th game in charge of the club – a feat he has achieved with only three of the 11 clubs he’s managed (via Transfermarkt) – but questions remain over whether he’ll make that landmark.

A win against Wolves this weekend is much-needed for all involved with the Magpies, especially for Bruce if he does want to keep his job.
