However, the Premier League side are also reportedly interested in hiring a director of football to help guide the team on and off the pitch in the coming seasons.
Indeed, according to De Telegraaf (via Football Oranje), Marc Overmars, who is the current technical director at Ajax, is drawing interest from the Magpies as a possible candidate for the role – a story that already has many fans excited.
What’s more, De Telegraaf also claims (via Sport Witness) that if he is to get the role, Ten Hag – the current Ajax manager – may also be brought over by Overmars for the project on Tyneside.
