Many Newcastle United fans have expressed their delight after their club was reportedly said to be interested in hiring Ralf Rangnick as a new sporting director.
The Magpies may well be set to undergo a period of significant change following the end of Mike Ashley’s ownership of the English club.
Indeed, as reported in The Telegraph, manager Steve Bruce could be set for an £8m payout if he is sacked, with non-executive chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan having to make a call on his future soon.
The article also explains that the club may also look to install Rangnick – who is currently with Russian club Lokomotiv Moscow – as their own sporting director.
Would Ralf Rangnick be a good appointment for Newcastle?

Details of the story were shared on Twitter and it soon saw many supporters reacting with plenty of excitement.
Here’s what these Newcastle fans said…
“This is it. We’re improving!”
It’s evident to see just how badly these Magpies fans want to see Rangnick at their club. The German is best known for the fine work he did while at Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig.
His profile may be seen as appropriate for Newcastle as he helped guide Leipzig from lower levels of German football all the way into the Champions League – a likely target for the new NUFC owners.
He is also great with talent acquisition, bringing in the likes of Emil Forsberg, Naby Keita and Timo Werner. Taking all this into account, it’s no wonder these supporters are very happy with the links.
