Lots of Newcastle United fans have flocked to Twitter to vent their fury with the latest update to emerge regarding Steve Bruce’s future at the club.
According to Keith Downie, both Steve Bruce and Graeme Jones oversaw Newcastle training on Tuesday amid the speculation surrounding the former’s position at the club.
Do you expect Bruce to be in charge on Sunday?
The Sky Sports man has already stated the expectation is Bruce will not be in the dugout on Sunday for their Premier League game against Tottenham Hotspur.
However, after meeting with Amanda Staveley on Monday, the 60-year-old returned to the Newcastle training ground for work on Tuesday as usual.
Toon fans flocked to Downie’s tweet to share their frustrations on Bruce still being in a job with the Tyneside club ahead of their Premier League return.
What did these Newcastle fans have to say?
“Times ticking Mandy love”
“Anyone else feel like this isn’t a good start if he is stood in the dugout on what should be another party atmosphere.”
“Worst news I’ve heard since last Wednesday”
“That’s shocking bit of a let down so Steve is staying is he”
“Heading towards their first own goal here”
“He lives to fight another day it seems!”
With the Saudi Arabian-based consortium now at the helm on Tyneside, there have been a number of managers linked with the potential vacant role, with Antonio Conte one of the names reported.
With the game on Sunday quickly approaching, it seems the patience of these Toon fans is being tested as they hope to see someone other than Bruce in the dugout at St. James’ Park.
