Newcastle United fans have been reacting to comments that have emerged from Amanda Staveley about the future of manager Steve Bruce.
With the sale of the club now made official, a lot of talk has emerged about what the club is going to look like moving forward, with one of those questions surrounding the future of manager Bruce.
Speaking on Twitter, journalist Keith Downie claimed: “Amanda Staveley says she’s spoken to manager Steve Bruce & captain Jamaal Lascelles this tea time – but says she has made no decision on Bruce’s future.”
This news reached Newcastle United fans on Twitter, and it’s fair to say that the news did not go down well with a number of them.
Given the relationship between Bruce and the supporters – with a recent survey by the Newcastle United Supporters’ Trust revealing that 94.3% of members think Bruce should leave his post – for them to hear that his exit isn’t imminent has added something of a downer to the festivities that welcomed the takeover announcement:
“She doesn’t need to decide, nearly 95% of the fans have decided for her.”
Should Steve Bruce be replaced immediately?
Yes
No
With Bruce and the fans not exactly on the same page, keeping hold of him for longer than necessary, especially given their precarious place in the division, might not be the best way to keep the fans on Staveley’s side.
