A number of Newcastle United fans have vented their anger online after Steve Bruce claimed the club was unlucky to lose their latest league fixture.
Over the weekend, the Magpies fell to a 2-1 defeat away to Wolves in the Premier League thanks to a double from Hwang Hee-chan, whose goals cancelled out Jeff Hendrick’s equaliser.
The loss means Newcastle are now one place from bottom in the league and have still not won a single game as they head into the second international break of the season.
Despite the poor result, while speaking in a post-match interview, Bruce maintained that the game could have gone either way, stating: “I can’t remember my goalkeeper making a save, but we’ve conceded twice.”
The quotes were soon topic for discussion amongst the club’s fanbase and it doesn’t seem as if many of them agreed with Bruce’s stance.
Do you think Newcastle can avoid relegation with Bruce in charge this season?
Yes
No
Here’s what these Newcastle fans said…
“Shambles.”
Even so, the simple matter is that Newcastle lost another match. And with games against Tottenham Hotspur, Crystal Palace and Chelsea next on the fixture list, things don’t look like they’re about to get any easier for the Magpies.
