Former professional footballer David Norris believes that following their recent takeover, Newcastle are going to be a huge draw.

Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund acquired an 80 per cent stake in Newcastle, with the Reuben brothers paying for a 10 per cent stake and Amanda Staveley getting 10 per cent, in a takeover deal worth £305million according to the Telegraph.

The new owners are currently looking for a new manager after parting ways with Steve Bruce, with Bild reporting that Lucien Favre is now the favourite to take the Newcastle hot seat.

Ex-Leeds United player Norris believes that Newcastle are going to be a huge draw, telling TIF: “Longer term with that type of money, you feel that they will just keep spending it until it gets right, whether they go through managers and types of players, but they’re going to be a huge draw now. They’re going to be able to pay the big money.”

As well as looking for a new manager, Newcastle have been linked with a number of players that they could sign, including Barcelona winger and World Cup winner Ousmane Dembele.

According to Spanish outlet Sport (via Express.co.uk), the agent of Dembele has spoken to Newcastle and the player could push for a move to the Premier League.
