A whole host of Newcastle United fans are extremely happy on Twitter following this latest claim surrounding Erik ten Hag.

The Ajax manager was linked with the Tottenham Hotspur job over the summer and now only a few months later he is being touted with an exit from the Netherlands and this time to second-bottom Newcastle, and other reports have suggested that his director of football, Marc Overmars, could join him on Tyneside.

Who would you rather as Newcastle manager?

Fonseca!

Fonseca!

Ten Hag!

Ten Hag!

Ten Hag has previously claimed that it would take something extraordinary to take him away from Ajax and that may be just what Newcastle can offer him as their owners want to win the Premier League in the next 10 years and according to the Daily Mail, the Magpies are set to offer him a contract that will see him earn £6 million a year after tax.

A lot of Newcastle fans on Twitter are in awe over this latest Ten Hag claim.

What have these Newcastle fans been saying?

“Think if we can get Overmars in as Director of Football and then Ten Hag as coach. Would be great bit of business to start us off. For years have admired the Ajax way of football from age 7 upwards.”

@bryan_sumner

“This is the dream”

@TbmV6

“If we got Overmars in as DOF then Ten Hag as manager it would be mental”

@HatTrickASM

“Yes yes yes”

@utfmm

“Imagine”

@Ross_Bunker

“He could be the best manager we have been linked to yet”

@NUFC_Stark

Despite links to Ten Hag, it is by no means a forgone conclusion that he is the frontrunner for the vacant job as others such as Paulo Fonseca and Lucien Favre have been heavily linked with the job for well over a week now.
