Lots of Newcastle fans have taken to Twitter to slam Karl Darlow’s display in the Premier League defeat against Chelsea

The 31-year-old endured a difficult afternoon at St. James Park against the European Champions, with Thomas Tuchel’s side securing a 3-0 victory courtesy of Reece James’ double and Jorginho’s penalty.

And, after watching his performance, many Newcastle fans took to Twitter to discuss the keeper’s performance against the Hammers, and it’s fair to say that many of them weren’t impressed by what they had to see – a couple of them even describing him as not being of Premier League quality.

What did Newcastle fans say about Karlow’s performance vs Newcastle?

“Let off again. Darlow is not even Championship standard. He’s dreadful. One shot. One goal. Offside saved us. Again. Get rid of him”

@palmtreegeordie

“Karl Darlow couldn’t save a word document either. If it’s not straight at him it’s going in”

@NE12Mag

“I’ve absolutely no idea why he or Bruce won’t/didn’t play 3 better players. Fernandez upgrades Lascelles and schar upgrades Clark. Lewis is an actual left back. Completely ruining that young kid. Darlow was absolutely awful”

@gallowgatenufc1

“Darlow’s goal kicks are outrageous man, so so poor”

@bethnufc3

“Sick of hearing ‘This defence was good under Rafa’that was 2 years ago. Clark is every bit of 40 years old. Ritchie is a liability at LWB. Darlow is a Championship GK at best”

@ISTB87

Darlow’s time is up. Need @HecoDubravka back for next game”

After the resounding defeat against the Blues, Graeme Jones’ side remain 19th in the table and will look to secure an elusive first victory of their Premier League campaign when they take on Brighton at the Amex Stadium next Saturday evening.
