Former striker Nigel Jemson believes Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be sacked if Manchester United do not win anything this season.

This comes after ex-Liverpool star Didi Hamann told Sky Sports that he himself expects a Solskjaer exit after some poor performances in this early part of the campaign.

The Norwegian was appointed as permanent manager back in 2019 after an initial period as interim boss, but he is yet to guide United to any silverware, with his side losing the Europa League final on penalties to Villarreal last term. And if that trend continues this season, Jemson thinks he could be in big trouble.

Does Solskjaer have to win a trophy?

He has to!

He has to!

No

No

“If he doesn’t win anything, he’s gone,” the former Nottingham Forest star said to TIF in response to Hamann’s recent comments.

“They need results for the investment they’ve put into the squad. Is it five years that would be without another trophy? That’s unheard of for Manchester United in recent years so huge pressure.”

After being knocked out of the Carabao Cup by West Ham, that is already one trophy gone.

However, after bringing in Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and, of course, Cristiano Ronaldo, United will be expected to compete for the major honours, the Premier League and Champions League.
