Former West Ham United defender Anton Ferdinand has claimed that Jadon Sancho looks ‘broken’ at Manchester United.

Over the summer, Sancho arrived in Manchester for the notable fee of £73m. However, up to his stage, he is yet to make much of an impact at his new club.

Indeed, seven league outings for the winger have seen him fail score a goal or claim even one assist. Most recently, he was an unused substitute as United fell to a 5-0 thrashing against rivals Liverpool.

While discussing the player and his struggles on his brother’s YouTube channel, Ferdinand claimed that manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs to play Sancho more often.

He said (32:49): “Sancho looked a guy who is broken yesterday on the bench. Someone like Sancho, with the numbers that he’s been putting up for these few years, play him.

He continued: “As a player, you don’t want to be thinking, ‘I’m only playing 60 minutes today because you’re gonna bring me off again’.

“Give him a run in a team. Embed him into that team.”

TIF thoughts on Jadon Sancho and Manchester United…

There is no denying the underlining quality Sancho has. He proved as much in Germany where he scored 50 times and managed 64 assists in just 137 appearances for Borussia Dortmund.
Still, as his lack of end product in England so far suggests, he really has found the adaption to his home nation more difficult than many would have imagined.

Has Sancho played enough for Manchester United so far this season?

No
With the Red Devils struggling for form in the league, it would hardly hurt to give Sancho more time to try and impress at the moment.
Perhaps Solskjaer will come to the same conclusion as Ferdinand and give Sancho ‘a run in a team’ in the near future.
