Former Nottingham Forest striker and Liverpool supporter Nigel Jemson says he was “gobsmacked” after Mohamed Salah’s brilliant goal against Manchester City.

Salah gave Liverpool a 2-1 lead versus their Premier League rivals last weekend before Kevin De Bruyne equalised to ensure the points were shared at Anfield.

It was an English top-flight game that will live long in the memories for Salah’s strike alone, with the £90m-rated Egyptian going on a mazy and skilful run before calmly dispatching past Ederson in the 2-2 draw.

Is Salah a Liverpool legend?

Without a doubt!

Speaking exclusively to TIF about Salah’s moment of brilliance, Jemson said:

“The goal against Man City, I was in awe of it. I was just gobsmacked because I just thought it was an individual brilliance. If Messi would have been scoring goals like that, then we’d talk about it for weeks and months.”

Salah has been in fantastic form for Liverpool this season overall, scoring nine goals in all competitions for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

If he can keep it up, you would expect Liverpool to come close to the title or go all the way, with the Reds currently sitting in 2nd place, just one point behind leaders Chelsea. Certainly, it has been a great start to the campaign for both Salah and his club.
