Many Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to Marcelo Bielsa’s decision to leave out England midfielder Kalvin Phillips against Wolves in the Premier League.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side have endured a difficult start to the campaign, currently sitting 17th in the table with just a solitary victory in the Premier League this season after eight games.

Following their dismal 1-0 defeat against Ralph Hassenhuttl’s Southampton at  St.Mary’s Stadium last week, Marcelo Bielsa’s side will be looking to secure their second victory and a vital three points against Wolves at Elland Road this afternoon.

However, Bielsa has made the highly controversial call to omit star midfielder Kalvin Phillips from his starting XI in the vital clash against Bruno Lage’s side this afternoon.

Will Leeds beat Wolves?

No

No

And, after hearing about that, some Leeds fans took to Twitter to voice their thoughts.

What did Leeds fans have to say about it?

“Hopefully Phillips comes on”

“If Phillips is fit to to be on the bench he should start we can’t afford to let this game get away from us”

@DerrickLUFC

“OH MY GOD. Do we have a midfield?”

“Finally get to witness raphinha through the middle, struijk at CDM sickens me tho”

@AllLeedsArentWe

“Klich will need to be on his game today. Without him getting stuck in we will be paper thin in midfield and Struijk will get isolated”

@FandangoCarllos

“What is the point of having both Phillips & Forshaw on the bench? They’re the same position and you shouldn’t/wouldn’t plan to sub the same singular position twice. One of them should have started.”

@bakerthepatrick

The Whites current six-point haul constitutes the club’s worst start to a league campaign in 33 years, while seven goals in eight games is a sharp decline from the 12 they plundered in the final four games of last season.

Indeed, Bielsa’s side have only managed to score more than once in a game on two occasions from their 10 matches across all competitions so far in 2021-22, and both of those games came in August.
