Leeds United fans have been reacting to stats that have emerged surrounding Jamie Shackleton in their game against Southampton.
It was a game to forget for Marcelo Bielsa’s men on the south coast as they lost 1-0 to the Saints, with some calling it their ‘worst performance’ under the Argentinian, which is certainly saying something considering they conceded six goals at Old Trafford last season.
However, it appears as though there were some good things to come out of the game, with the performance of 22-year-old being one of them.
The Leeds United stats account @LUFCDATA provided some data from his performance, where he put up some rather impressive numbers, including six tackles, five interceptions and completing 83% of his passes inside the opposition half.
These numbers left a portion of Leeds United fans impressed when they saw them on Twitter, with many hoping that he will continue to get minutes in the future having put together a nice little run in the first team recently:
“If anything, last 3 games shacks has shown he is here to stay. Would love to see him in midfield once Ayling is back”
Do you think Jamie Shackleton has a bright future with Leeds United?
No, he's not that good
Yes, he's a solid player
Given that Leeds United have only won one game so far this season, they might need a few more performances like this, not just from Shackleton, but from a lot of the players moving forward.
