Lots of Leeds United have taken to Twitter to voice their delight at the latest news to emerge regarding one of their young prospects, Joe Gelhardt.

It was revealed on Monday that the 19-year-old Leeds striker had been selected for the England U21s side for the upcoming games against Slovenia and Andorra.

Will Joe Gelhardt become a starter at Leeds?

Gelhardt has been awarded a place in Lee Carsley’s side after Noni Madueke and Levi Colwil both dropped out of the squad due to respective injury issues.

Leeds flocked to the tweet from the club’s official account to share their delight in their youngster’s bright start to the season being recognised by the England setup.

What did these have to say?

“So now only 3 Leeds United players in the England U20 Squad, but now 2 in the England U21s. The future is bright.”

“Great news”
“Superb news for young man MOT.”
“Fantastic news, go smash it Joe”
“Big future”
Thoroughly deserved”

The Leeds ace has made a stunning start to the new Premier League 2 season, with six goals for the Whites in his six appearances – with one assist to his name, too (via Transfermarkt).

Having played in the first team’s Carabao Cup victory against Fulham last month, it seems the striker has left a positive impression on these fans, who are delighted to see him rewarded for his efforts.
