Leeds United’s U23 squad have enjoyed a relatively strong start to the campaign despite some disappointing results of late, including a defeat to Leicester City’s Development Squad last time out.
And now, Mark Jackson’s side have lost to Sunderland in the Premier League Cup on Sunday, Cameron Jessup’s and former Whites man Ethan Kachosa goals either side of Crysencio Summerville’s strike enough to give the home side victory.
Summerville scored a wonderful left-footed effort from just inside the area after dribbling through the heart of the Sunderland defence
Despite the disappointing result for Jackson’ side, Leeds fans took to Twitter to laud Summerville’s performance against the Black Cats
What did these Leeds make of Summerville’s display?
“As much as that was great I’m certain that Sunderland player’s defending wasn’t premier League quality. Summerville is such an exciting talent, can’t wait to see him in the first team… when he’s ready”
“Summerville would tear up the championship”
“Different gravy, Summerville a finish!”
“OH MY GOD CRYSENCIO SUMMERVILLE THAT IS ABSOLUTELY WORLD CLASS”
“Summerville goal > Salah goal”
“Summerville has just done a madness, again”
“Get him in the first team now”
The Premier League Cup represents an opportunity for Mark Jackson’s teenagers to fight for silverware among their age-mates, unlike the EFL Trophy which pits the U21 squad against League One and Two opposition.
