Many Leeds United fans have found themselves enjoying some new footage that involved Kalvin Phillips, Leo Hjelde, and Charlie Cresswell.
In their last Premier League fixture, Marcelo Bielsa and co were staring down the barrel of a fifth league defeat of the season. However, with the full-time whistle fast approaching – and opponents Wolves leading 1-0 – teenage substitute Joe Gelhardt burst into the box and drew a challenge from Nelson Semedo.
A penalty was awarded and then Rodrigo converted it to give his side a hard-thought draw at Elland Road.
Now new footage has emerged which shows the bench – including Phillips, Hjelde, and Cresswell – all reacting as Gelhardt goes down and wins the penalty.
The clip was shared on Twitter and it soon had a number of supporters reacting with delight at the emotional images on display.
Do you think it was a foul on Joe Gelhardt?
Yes
No
Here’s what the Leeds fans said
“Wonderful.”
Despite the game only seeing one point be earned by the club, it still felt like a big occasion for Leeds. It’s been a shaky start to the season for Bielsa’s men and this late draw may well kickstart things in Yorkshire.
It’s clear to see players and fans alike are incredibly invested – the support at Elland Road is something Phil Hay even wrote about recently in The Athletic.
